Product Care

Your stained glass artwork is handcrafted to be enjoyed for years to come. With a little care and mindful handling, your piece will continue to bring color and light to your space for generations.

Display & Hanging

Always hang your stained glass using a secure hook or chain rated for the weight of the piece.
Suction cups are suitable only for small, lightweight pieces and should be inspected regularly, as they may fail over time.
Avoid placing your artwork where it may be bumped or exposed to strong vibrations.
Keep larger panels properly supported and never hang multiple attachment points from a single hook.
For best results, display indoors and away from excessive moisture or harsh weather.

Cleaning

Stained glass requires very little maintenance.

For routine cleaning:

Remove dust with a soft microfiber cloth or soft brush.
Wipe gently with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild dish soap if needed.
Dry immediately with a clean, lint-free cloth.

Please avoid:

Abrasive pads or steel wool.
Ammonia-based cleaners or harsh chemicals.
Vinegar, bleach, or acid-based cleaning products.
Excessive scrubbing or soaking.

Natural Aging

The solder lines and metal components of stained glass naturally age and may develop a darker patina over time. This is normal and adds character to the piece.

If desired, the shine can be refreshed occasionally by applying a thin coat of carnauba wax or quality car wax with a soft cloth, then buffing gently. This helps slow oxidation and maintain the finish.

Handling

Although glass is durable, it should always be handled with care.

Use both hands when moving larger pieces.
Place the artwork on a soft surface while cleaning.
Remove rings or jewelry that could scratch the glass.
Avoid dropping or placing heavy objects against the piece.

Sunlight & Environment

Stained glass is designed to interact beautifully with natural light.

Indoor sunlight is perfectly safe and enhances the colors.
Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat, excessive humidity, or standing water.
Keep pieces away from heating vents, air conditioners, and damp environments.
Store artwork in a cool, dry location when not displayed.

Lead Safety

Most traditional stained glass artwork is made using lead-based solder, a material that has been safely used by artisans for centuries.

Finished pieces are safe for display in the home. However, as a general precaution:

Wash your hands after handling stained glass.
Do not place food directly on the artwork.
Keep pieces out of reach of small children and pets.
Avoid inhaling dust generated during repairs or modifications.

Repairs & Restoration

Accidents happen. If your stained glass piece becomes damaged, please don't discard it. Many pieces can be repaired and restored.
